Nicholls State scored three runs in the eighth inning to win 5-2 over UT Arlington in the semifinal game of the Southland Conference Softball Tournament, Friday . The loss concludes the season for the Mavericks.

Nicholls State won 3-2 in ten innings over UTSA and will face UT Arlington in the semifinals of the Southland Conference Tournament at 4 p.m. on Friday.
FIVE MAVERICKS EARN SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE SOFTBALL HONORS

Five UT Arlington softball players earned All-Southland Conference honors the league announced Wednesday. Senior left fielder Katie Jones and sophomore catcher Samantha Chumchal were named to the first team. Senior shortstop Amanda Swofford and sophomore pitcher Cara Hulme were selected to the second team. Freshman third baseman Whitney Simpson was named to the third team.
MAVERICKS CLINCH NO.2 SEED IN SLC TOURNAMENT WITH 4-0 WIN

Senior Laura Jones tossed her 11th career shutout to help lead the UT Arlington softball team to a 4-0 victory over Central Arkansas to close out the regular season at Allan Saxe Field on Sunday afternoon. With the win the Mavericks clinch the No. 2 seed and first round bye at the Southland Conference Tournament, which begins in San Marcos on Thursday, May 8.

UT Arlington extended its home winning streak to 11 games and tied the team's single-season record for home runs in a doubleheader sweep Saturday against Central Arkansas in Southland Conference softball.

The UT Arlington softball team will close out regular season with a three-game Southland Conference series against Central Arkansas at Allan Saxe Field. The series will begin with the first game of a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
