2007-08 [Sophomore Season]
Nelson saw action in 29 games during the 2007-08 campaign... tied a career-high 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field to go along with two rebounds and three assists versus Sam Houston State (Jan. 31)... notched 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting, to go along with two rebounds, one assists and one steal at home against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Jan. 26)... collected 11 points, four rebounds, one assists and two steals versus Elon Phoenix (Dec. 20)... finished with 10 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field, to go along with three rebounds, four assists and two steals on the road against Sam Houston State (Feb. 28)... collected 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting including 2-of-2 from the charity stripe, to go along with four rebounds, two assists and a season-high three steals against University of Texas at San Antonio (Feb. 21)... scored eight points, grabbed three rebounds and two assists against Lamar (Feb. 14)... finished with six points on four occasions versus Montana State (Nov. 17), Northwestern State (Jan. 12), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 23) and Texas State (Mar. 8) this past season... concluded the season averaging 5.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.7 steals per game.
2006-07 [Freshman Season]
Played in 32 games this season, starting in five... was the freshmen's leading scorer and sixth overall on the team with 4.4 points a game... averaged 16.1 minutes of playing time on the season... scored a career-high 15 points against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Feb. 17) going 6-of-9 from the floor and 2-of-3 from the charity stripe... had a career-high five steals in the Mavs' SLC opener at Central Arkansas on Jan. 4... dished out three assists twice (Sam Houston State and Lamar)... scored 14 points going 5-of-8 from the floor and hitting 4-of-4 from the line against Stephen F. Austin (Jan. 27) while adding a season-high eight boards and playing a career-high 36-minutes.

Nelson was a three-time all-District 7-5A choice at Cedar Hill High School... was named the District 7-5A Offensive MVP and to the all-region team by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) after leading the Longhorns in scoring (14.5 ppg), rebounding (4.5 rpg) and steals (2.2 per game)... was named first-team all-district as a junior and was named to the all-tournament teams for the Mansfield Rotary and the End of Oregon Trail tournament... member of the A-B Honor Roll and CHHS.
