The UT Arlington baseball program is being represented in the collegiate summer leagues by several players who wore Maverick uniforms this past spring, and also by players who have signed National Letters of Intent with UT Arlington for the 2008-2009 year.
Walls won the 100 meters and 200 meters on Sunday and competed in two relays at the Southland Conference Track and Field Championships, earning 22.75 points as she became the first female Maverick athlete to be the high-point earner at the conference meet since 1995. Walls time of 23.23 in the 200 meters broke the school record of 23.48 by LaQuinta Manahan in 1995. It also broke the track record of 23.23 in 1997 by UTSA's Tameka Roberts. Walls has already qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships in both events.
